Cascade, Luna- This textured cotton, gives any piece you work up a feel as if you plucked the clouds down from the sky and worked directly from them. It is more of a raw cotton, so it has a halo and creates a very squishy fabric. I think every baby deserves a blanket in this amazing yarn... and the colors are so pretty. Noro, Silk Garden Lite- Just as amazing as the regular Silk Garden, but in a lighter weight perfect for warmer weather. Ella Rae, Lace Merino and Lace Merino Worsted- Not only has the weather been spectacular, the Aurora Borialis was visable as far south as Shamburg. STITCH'n'BRUNCH: every Sunday we host a pot-luck style brunch and craft circle. Bring your project, your favorite breakfast nibble and join other local crafters. You don't have to be a knitter or crocheter, if you weave, spin, bead, felt, or embroider everyone is welcome! We don't discriminate. Sundays are also a great day to come in with those stitches that stump you, because I have officially dubbed Sundays a free help day where I can show you how to fix mistakes, get past a difficult part in a pattern or learn finishing techniques to start putting together those Christmas presents for your loved ones. Yes, I said it, Christmas! Ya'll have to start thinking ahead of what we are going to be making people for the holidays.
SCI-FIBER FRIDAY: The best place to work on your U.F.O.’s (Un-finished Objects). Join us every Friday at 7pm for a free craft circle and movie showing of a different Sci-Fi movie or TV show. Come and (space) craft with us. If you have any suggestions about what movie you would like us to show, we would love to hear from you.
As most of you know we are the only shop in Chicago that offers store credit for your unwanted stash yarn. If you have yarn you don't want that is in good condition, it hasn't been used, and has the original tags, bring it in for store credit, even if you haven't purchased it here. That way you can get something you will use.
